Trump Was Right Again: Obama Administration Had Trump Tower Bugged

All the liberal talking heads laughed about how paranoid Donald Trump was when he said Trump Tower was bugged by the Obama administration.  And once again they have egg on their collective faces as it is reported that, yes indeed, Paul Manafort was indeed bugged.

Manafort was Trump’s campaign manager and he lives in Trump Tower.  It’s a safe assumption that as Trump’s campaign manager, the FBI listened in on many conversations with Trump until he was fired in August of 2016 over possible business dealings with a political party in the Ukraine.

According to the Daily Caller:

The NYT published an article during the 2016 presidential campaign claiming that members of the Trump campaign would leak their policy proposals to the media, which would then be aired in front of him. Staffers reportedly found that was a better option for handling Trump than meeting with him face to face.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

A follow-up article in the Times the next day alleged that Manafort had taken money from a pro-Russia political party in the Ukraine. The campaign director was ordered to resign the next day, according to the book.

“We’re putting out a press release at 9 a.m. that says you’ve resigned. That’s in 30 seconds,” Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner told Manafort just before the campaign announced he had resigned.

But is that the truth or were members of the FBI leaking conversations between Trump and his campaign manager?  Remember, James Comey, who was the head of the FBI at the time and who categorically denied any bugging took place, is a known leaker.  His actions during the presidential campaign and pressure from Loretta Lynch would both indicate that as a definite scenario.

Now, Congressional committees investigating allegations of Russia/Trump collusion are looking into what role the now debunked Trump dossier played in getting a warrant to bug Manafort’s phone.  We already know the FBI used the dossier to get a bug placed on Carter Page who temporarily worked on the Trump campaign even though the two had never met.

Senior Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee have reportedly requested that the FBI and Department of Justice turn over applications for any warrants to monitor the communications of U.S. citizens associated with the investigation into alleged Russia interference in the 2016 presidential election. They specifically want to know about the possible role of the dossier in the Russia probe.

The dossier in question was authored by former intelligence agent Christopher Steele, who was reportedly paid by Democrats and anti-Trump Republicans to investigate Trump. Steele recently conceded in court documents that part of his work still needed to be verified.

The dossier contains wild and unproven claims that the Russians had information regarding Trump and sordid sexual acts, including the widely mocked claim that Trump hired prostitutes and had them urinate on a hotel room bed.

It is interesting to note that the investigation against Manafort was dropped due to lack of evidence but even so, it was revived again after Hillary got the shellacking of her life.
