The State of Texas announced this week that it is terminating its nearly $4 million Medicaid contract with Planned Parenthood, the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) reported.
The Texas Office of the Inspector General specifically cited CMP’s undercover videos as the reason to bar Planned Parenthood from receiving further public money and CMP stated that no longer will taxpayer dollars in the state of Texas flow to subsidize the state’s biggest abortion business.
The OIG also noted that the recent work of the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Select Investigative Panel confirms the allegations in CMP’s undercover videos of top-level Planned Parenthood leadership
The OIG letter, terminating Planned Parenthood’s contract with taxpayers, states:
The basis for your termination and the termination of your affiliates stems from an extensive undercover video obtained by the Center for Medical Progress at the Planned Parenthood Gulf Freeway facility in April 2015, which contains evidence that Planned Parenthood violated state and federal law.
“CMP’s undercover videos of Planned Parenthood’s senior level leadership clearly show the nation’s biggest abortion provider deeply engaged in the harvesting and sale of aborted baby body parts, “said David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress. “As the TX Office of the Inspector General’s letter makes clear, the findings to date of the House Energy & Commerce Committee’s Select Investigative Panel, the Senate Judiciary Committee, and the state of Texas’ own investigation confirm what is shown in the videos and document legal and medical violations at Planned Parenthood even more widespread than initially recognized.”
“In Texas, Planned Parenthood commits almost twice as many abortions each year than the number of Medicaid patients it sees there. Americans overwhelmingly oppose using their taxpayer dollars to subsidize the abortion industry, which is led by Planned Parenthood, so redirecting taxpayer funds away from big abortion’s criminal enterprise and into real, full-spectrum, mainstream healthcare is just common sense and good policy, “Daleiden stated.
The latest news comes not long after the Center for Medical Progress reported that The Senate Judiciary Committee issued a 500-page report confirming that Planned Parenthood and their business partners sold aborted baby body parts for profit, and referred them to the FBI and Department of Justice for criminal prosecution.
The report implicates four of the biggest Planned Parenthood affiliates in northern California, the CA bay area, Los Angeles, and San Diego. It also presents evidence that Planned Parenthood Federation of America is guilty of criminal conspiracy, covering up for its biggest and wealthiest affiliates when it became aware they were violating Planned Parenthood’s own guidelines.
