On Friday, Politico reported that Rep. [score]Luis Gutierrez[/score], D-Ill., announced that would boycott the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States.

According to Politico:

“I’m not going to this inauguration. I can’t go to this inauguration because he continues to spew hatred, bigotry and prejudice even after he said he was going to bring us all together, he was going to unify, but he’s not,” the Illinois congressman said on CNN.

Gutierrez, who gave an impassioned speech against Trump at the Democratic National Convention, said he and his wife will instead take part in the protests and marches against Trump in Washington next month.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Fox News added:

Gutierrez, who serves on the House Judiciary Committee, has made comprehensive immigration reform a key part of his congressional career and was an early endorser of Hillary Clinton.

He said he has been present at every inauguration ceremony since his election to office in 1992.

Gutierrez also expressed his concerns about Trump’s possible reversal of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, a move that would jeopardize the legal status of hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants registered under it.

“Donald Trump says he’s going after them, that he’s going to revoke DACA and he’s going to take away their freedom in this country,” he said. “And they’re afraid.”

Keep in mind, this is the same Gutierrez who demanded Obama rule like a dictator on illegal immigration…
