Secret Service warns: ‘Watch what you say on social media!’ – Video

threatThe United States Secret Service has issued a warning for those who use social media: Be careful of what you say regarding elected officials and the candidates they protect.

The warning was issued on Twitter after a man in Columbus, Ohio was grilled about a message he posted on Facebook.  The tweet included a link to a story about that incident.

The Columbus man, Gary Barry, received a visit to his home by Secret Service agents after he posted, “Where do we send the bomb?”  The message was in response to a post that said both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders would be in town.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Barry said it was a joke, but, WISH said, it was no laughing matter to the Secret Service. Someone contacted them about the post and an investigation was launched. Two armed agents knocked on his door ready to talk.

WISH added:

“I received a phone call from my son saying there were two gentlemen at the door from the Secret Service. And I thought he was kidding. But he wasn’t and they actually waited for me to get home,” said Barry.

Barry said the agents questioned him and wife for about thirty minutes. The agents knew everything about him, his family, even his father who was firefighter.

“They were asking me if I was a racist, if I was anti-Muslim. And, do I have any thoughts of suicide or thoughts of assassinating the vice president or president,” said Barry.

WISH-TV’s sister station WCMH contacted the United States Secret Service officer here in Columbus. They confirm an ongoing investigation in the comment made by Gary Barry. They also admit to questioning him Tuesday.

Why would the Secret Service ask if Barry is anti-Muslim?  What, pray tell, does that have to do with anything, considering that neither candidate is a Muslim?

Here’s a video report from the local station:

As we noted earlier, the Secret Service is serious about threatening messages on social media.

During the 2012 election, liberals routinely posted threats to murder Republicans, specifically GOP nominee Mitt Romney, and liberals continue to call for Donald Trump’s death.

Agents warned Barry as they were leaving: “Watch what you say on Facebook.”
