Sanctuary City Supporter on Short List for New Border Patrol Chief

Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske has released the following statement after one of his picks to be the new Border Patrol chief was leaked out:

“At this time, CBP has not begun the search for the Chief of the U.S. Border Patrol. It is completely false that any individual could be a potential candidate at this time. We are currently preparing the paperwork to begin the process.”

Do you believe him?  I certainly don’t.  The name of Heather Fong didn’t appear magically out of thin air.  Several journalists have heard her name bandied about as the new chief.  She is a former chief of police from San Francisco and her position on illegal aliens is well known.  She personally refused to cooperate with ICE even when the illegal alien in question was a violent criminal.  Here are a few of her quotes about illegals:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

“San Francisco is committed to providing safe access to public services to our communities.”

“We do not work on enforcing immigration laws.”

Brandon Judd, head of the border agents’ union made no bones about what her appointment would mean:

“The appointment of Heather Fong would prove that the Border Patrol is no longer the enforcement agency that Congress and the American public intended it to be.”

“Heather Fong oversaw a sanctuary city, which is directly contrary to our mission. Her appointment would be for political purposes and the trust of the men and women of the Border Patrol in DHS and CBP leadership would be lost.”

House Committee on Homeland Security Chairman Mike McCaul spoke to Fox News and he said this:

“If they bring (a police chief) in for political purposes based on the sanctuary cities model, that politicizes the job and I think it completely undermines credibility and morale in the organization.”

“If you have someone who is advocating for sanctuary cities, that’s the opposite side. They welcome these illegal immigrants to stay in the country. And so I think it’s at cross-purpose with the mission itself.”

The decision as to who will get the job belongs exclusively to Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Gil Kerlikowske, and her appointment does not require Senate confirmation.  Think the Obama caliphate wouldn’t want her in such an important job, where her personal opinions would affect all border control policies?  Then consider what her current job is.  She is an assistant secretary for state and local law enforcement at the Department of Homeland Security.

Am I the only one becoming numb at the corruption of the Obama caliphate?
