Report: Senate GOP leadership undermining Mike Lee’s campaign to defund Obamacare

Senators Paul, Lee, And Vitters Discuss Senate Debt DiscussionsPersonally, I’m getting a bit tired of wobbly, scaredy-cat Republicans who refuse to do the right thing for the country.  It’s bad enough they vote to help Democrats destroy America with amnesty, but now they refuse to get behind an effort to slow down Obamacare.

Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) reportedly has over a dozen Senators ready to help him defund Obamacare.  But the GOP leadership — as usual — is working to undermine that effort, according to RedState’s Erick Erickson:

Mike Lee has begun the legislative fight to defund Obamacare. He has a letter out calling on leadership to join him in the fight and others are signing his letter.

At the same time the Speaker’s Office pushed out two stories — Americans are increasingly souring on Obamacare and Democrats are starting to turn on it.

But earlier Mitch McConnell suggested the GOP would not tie defunding Obamacare to funding the government for the rest of the year.”

“I think our main goal going into the year-end discussions is to not walk away from the bipartisan agreement we made two years ago to reduce spending. That unfortunately had to be done by the sequester, but the sequester is the law,” McConnell said.

According to Erickson, legislators are now trying to get Mike Lee to remove his signature from his own letter.

“In other words,” Erickson said, “it appears John Boehner recognizes this is a winning position and the Senate leadership is going wobbly.”

Get on the phone, call these creatures right now, and demand they do the right thing.

Maybe we should send the Gunny to square these rascals away…
