Rapper Turned ISIS Pitchman Gets Bombed. Literally

“Deso Dogg,” a rapper from Germany, joined Islamic terrorists back in 2012 after abandoning his music career in 2010.  The “poster boy” for successful western recruitment, he was part of the reason so many people joined the terrorists. Vice and other news media reported that he finally got his “reward” of “72 virgins” during a recent airstrike.

The terrorist recruiter

Deso Dogg was born Denis Cuspert in Berlin. Upon his conversion to Islam, he took the name Abu Talha al-Almani. The U.S. State Department had listed him as a “specially designated global terrorist” because of his willing recruiting for the Islamic State and its “atrocities.”

Part of that terrorist designation from February 9, 2015 is here:

“Denis Cuspert is a foreign terrorist fighter and operative for ISIL, a designated foreign terrorist organization. Cuspert joined ISIL in 2012 and has appeared in numerous videos on its behalf, the most recent dating from early November, in which he appears holding a severed head he claims belongs to a man executed for opposing ISIL. Born in Berlin, the 39-year-old Cuspert spent time in jail for various offenses. Now calling himself Abu Talha al-Almani, Cuspert has pledged an oath of loyalty to ISIL leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and appears to serve as an ISIL recruiter with special emphasis on recruiting German speakers to ISIL. Cuspert is emblematic of the type of foreign recruit ISIL seeks for its ranks – individuals who have engaged in criminal activity in their home countries who then travel to Iraq and Syria to commit far worse crimes against the people of those countries.”

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Karma

Like many in ISIS, there have been rumors of his death before. The guy who once remarked “Jihad is fun” and was photographed with the head of a victim of the Islamic State, seemed to enjoy his “work.”

This time, however, the Department of Defense specifically told reporters that he died in an airstrike on Raqqa, Syria on October 16. Karma.

The New York Times wrote,

…The musician, born Denis Cuspert, toured with the American performer DMX in 2006 but later abandoned rap music and became a well-known singer of nasheeds, or Islamic devotional music, in German…

Mr. Cuspert was born in Berlin to a German mother and a Ghanaian father who soon left the family. His American stepfather, a former soldier, was a strict disciplinarian, and conflicts at home increased until Mr. Cuspert spent five years in a home for troubled children…

He left Egypt in 2012, eventually making his way to Syria…

So there you have it, a rapper who got bombed.  Literally.

“I can confirm that an Oct. 16 airstrike near Raqqah killed Denis Cuspert. Cuspert was a foreign terrorist fighter and operative for ISIL who used social media to take advantage of disaffected youth and potential Western recruits…He publicly threatened the President of the United States and German citizens; he also encouraged Western Muslims to conduct attacks.” Elissa Smith, Department of Defense spokeswoman
