Questions about any incident are healthy things, particularly about the Las Vegas Shooting or any other major incident. Let’s take some of those questions and give them an objective look.
We’ve received numerous pieces of information showing the LVMP radio feed stating that there were multiple shooters on Sunday night in Las Vegas. While the possibility exists, there are some things to consider.
Chaotic first reports of Multiple Shooters
Keep in mind that in EVERY major incident, the first reports are always chaotic. There have been “multiple shooter” claims from every active shooter breaking news story we’ve covered in the last 5 years. Take the Dallas police shooting for example- when that many police officers were murdered, the initial reports stated there were multiple shooters. Turned out to be only one.
Yesterday it was reported that a Battalion Fire Chief stated the flashing lights were fire alarms, not shooting. The video clearly shows a flashing light from the 4th or 5th floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel. Was it gunfire? It surely appears to be, yet the windows from that area did not appear to be shot out. Could someone- an expert special ops team- have removed the window and replaced it later? Did police check that area to see if the window had been disturbed? Unknown at this point.
If the LVMP and FBI have the capability, they should be able to determine the trajectory of gunshot wounds on the victims. It may be too much of a task, but it could be done forensically. The trajectory from the 4th or 5th floor would be different than that of the 32nd floor higher up.
Why didn’t the perpetrator choke up from all the smoke from his 10 minute carnage? Automatic weapons, even modified ones, produce enormous amounts of smoke and heat. Again, think about the kind of room he was using: a suite with windows facing two different directions. Plus, he had already vented the room by breaking the windows. In the pictures, there are different guns strewn about the room. Changing guns, not just “reloading,” from time to time would explain the lapses in firing during the incident.
Who released those photos of the crime scene so early in the investigation? That particular situation is one that the FBI should handle quickly in house- it was a stupid move. Speaking from a law enforcement background, generally crime scene photos are not released until the investigation is completed. This investigation is most certainly not over.
Could a team of assassins have taken out the perpetrator before police arrived? Possible.
Paddock had a camera set up in the hallway to warn him of SWAT approach, and one inside the hotel room to video tape the carnage- why? Just psychopathic behavior? Possible.
According to NBC News, he recently wired $100,000 to the Philippines days before the attack. Was that for his girlfriend or to pay jihadists? She was reportedly in Japan, but was located in the Philippines, according to Reuters, and flew back from Manila on Tuesday night.
Is it a little too “convenient ” that she was out of the country during the shooting? Danley is from the Philippines originally- which is a hotbed of the jihadist activity from Abu Sayyef, an ISIS affiliate. Possible.
It is also possible that Stephen Paddock had the whole thing planned and simply wanted her out of the way – the money was just to take care of her. He had a habit of taking care of his family.
Was he just mentally ill?
Paddock’s father, Benjamin Paddock, was a diagnosed psychopath who had been on the FBI’s most wanted list for bank robbery.
Did he just inherit his father’s mental problems? Again, possible.
We know that the media lies. We know that the government sometimes gets things wrong (and yes, they often lie too). In light of those things it is healthy to question.
But keep in mind that conspiracies can be deceiving, just like the “facts” can be deceiving. We all want to know the how and why this evil maniac killed 59 people and wounded over 500 others. We want to understand it. Question, yes, but be careful what you believe — there are real victims here, people who innocently went to enjoy a country concert and ended up in a desperate, life and death situation. There are some things that we will never completely understand. There are also some things that will be used by others for their own agenda. The Las Vegas shooting is both.
