Police trash man’s home, take all electronic gear over alleged ‘anti-Islam’ tweet

Matthew_3599603bOn Sunday, the UK Telegraph reported that 46-year-old Matthew Doyle, of South Croydon, was initially charged by police with violating the Public Order Act 1986, a law basically designed to implement a form of Orwellian political correctness, after he tweeted about asking a Muslim woman he met to explain the Brussels terror attack.

The charges were dropped, however, primarily on procedural grounds.  It seems officers did not consult the attorney general’s office before making the charge.

Nevertheless, he said his home had been ransacked and all of his electronic gear – computers, phones, etc., were confiscated.  All over a tweet.

“I cannot understand why I was detained, my flat trashed, my passport seized and two PCs, two tablets and my phone taken,” he said.  “I was denied a shave, shower, food. I was stripped of any dignity to appear in court without looking like a dishevelled hobo that I am not,” he added.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Again — all over a tweet.

Now he plans to take legal action.

“It is not only foolish of them but I will be making a complaint against them and damages for trashing my flat, taking all my electronic stuff from my flat and forcing me to leave London,” he said.

The Telegraph explained:

Scotland Yard confirmed: “Matthew Doyle, 46, of South Croydon was charged by police on Friday, 25 March, with an offence under Section 19 of the Public Order Act 1986.

“Following discussion with the Crown Prosecution Service, Mr Doyle is no longer charged with the offence and will not be appearing at court.

“Police may not make charging decisions on offences under Section 19 of the Public Order Act.”

The Attorney-General’s office added: “The police didn’t consult us before charging him and there has been no request for the AG’s consent.”

This is what you get with left-wing political correctness.  How long will it be before this madness comes to the US?
