Outrageous: Breitbart posts, yanks parting smear of Ben Shapiro, Michelle Fields

breitbart-smearAs we reported Sunday, Ben Shapiro and Michelle Fields resigned from Breitbart News over the way the outlet handled allegations that Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski assaulted Fields.  In his resignation, Shapiro expressed sadness that the site had abandoned the principles of its founder, Andrew Breitbart.

The site responded to Shapiro’s resignation with a gross parting smear calling him a traitor who was looking for a Fox News contributorship.  The article didn’t stick around very long, however, and in an apparent attempt to, as one Twitter user said, scrub the poop off its shoes, the site removed it.

But not before it could be captured and archived for posterity.

An archived version of the “article” can be seen here, and sadly, appears to demonstrate what the once-great site has turned into since basically becoming a propaganda outlet for GOP candidate Donald Trump.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Twitter users reacted to the article as expected:

Real brave.

The article has since been replaced with — what else — a puff piece on their new master:

Of course, screen shots and archives are forever…

Some noted the slightly anti-Semitic nature of the hit-piece.

Exactly.  Which is exactly why this blog does not, and will not, endorse a particular candidate in the GOP primary.

Shapiro added this parting shot:

Exit question: How bad will this impact Breitbart.com?  Stay tuned, we’ll post any updates as we get them.
