New York taxpayers fund ‘Killing Republicans’ musical

Snippet-kill republicansTaxpayers in New York city and state might like to know that their hard-earned money is helping to fund a musical production entitled, “Killing Republicans.”

On Wednesday, the New York Daily News reported that three times as many Republican presidents have been murdered in office as Democrats and, the paper observed, “the themes of race and equality continue to loom large.”

Say what?

Writer and lyricist Dick Zigun said: “I wanted to explore why the Republican party, champions of blacks’ lives under Abraham Lincoln, has now completely flipped now.” (sic)

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

It hasn’t, but that’s what liberals keep saying.

The Daily News adds:

Told in a mix of punk rock and thrash metal music composed by Cristian Amigo, the show takes place in the first class cabin of a transatlantic flight. Three passengers including actress Jodie Foster, a Nigerian pop singer and a rockabilly oil foreman from Biloxi “have drinks, talk politics and sing about the history of assassination attempts on Republicans.”

There’s plenty to discuss. Abraham Lincoln, James Garfield and William McKinley were assassinated — and attempts were made on Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford. Senator Charles Sumner was caned within a few inches of death. And there’s more.

But that’s not all:

The “Killing Republican” passengers won’t discuss current politicians like Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton. “Satire goes out of date quickly,” said Zigun. “I’m full of myself and write for the ages.”

Besides, Sanders and Clinton aren’t Republicans anyway, and quite a few people don’t think Trump is one either.

Zigun says his show, which is in rehearsals right now for a run in April, is “specifically about Republicans.”

Let’s cut through all the BS here and get straight to the point, shall we?  This is just another attempt to foment even more hatred and possibly violence against Republicans.  And it’s not the first time killing those to the right of center has been the subject of a stage production.

Back in 2011, killing conservatives was the central theme of a play in Madison, Wisconsin.  And it’s quite common for leftists to demand that those on the right be killed any time a major event takes place.  It’s just the way they roll.

And who funds the group putting this together?  The NYDN originally reported, according to the Gateway Pundit:

The Coney Island Project, the production group, is funded by New York City and State agencies.

Coney Island USA is funded, in part, by The Lily Auchincloss Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation, the Fund for the City of New York; the Independence Community Foundation, the Lemberg Foundation, the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, the New York Community Trust, the New York Council for the Humanities, the New York State Council on the Arts, Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams, New York City Councilman Mark Treyger and our loyal members.

That’s since been scrubbed from the article.  Wonder why…

In February 2011, I first said that liberalism, at its core, is an ideology of rage and hate.  Sadly, liberals prove that assertion correct on just about any given day.
