Maxine Waters wants Trump impeached over reaction to NFL kneelers

During an appearance on MSNBC this weekend, Maxine Waters, the California Democrat obsessed with impeachment and conspiracy theories involving President Trump and Russia, told Joy Reid that the president should be impeached, in part, due to his reaction to NFL players taking a knee to disrespect the flag and the national anthem.

“It is absolutely outrageous and dangerous what he’s doing,” Waters said of Trump’s reaction — which is being echoed by many Americans.

“He started dog-whistling to that constituency during the campaign and started his division,” she added.  “They frighten people. They play into racism. They do what every other president either has attempted not to do, or at least showed some signs of, uh, you know, trying to bring people together, or not divide.”

Here’s video of her comments:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The American Mirror added:

Waters didn’t denounce the divisive actions of the NFL players snubbing the American flag and national anthem.

“He is about division. He is about signaling to that core group of his that this country that he wants to make great again is all about making it white,” she declared.

Waters asserted that Trump won’t criticize Vladimir Putin, but he’ll “criticize NFL players.”

“I know we’re not talking Russia and collusion today, and we’re not talking about obstruction of justice, but I hope people understand it’s about all of this,” she said, apparently including his strong reaction to the kneelers, “that he should not be the president of the United States.

“And we’ve got to get ready for impeachment,” Waters said, clapping her hands.

Meanwhile, patriotic NFL fans across the country have made their feelings known, with some going so far as to burn their NFL gear:

Here’s another fan not happy with the NFL:

And, the Wall Street Journal reported, DirecTV subscribers are canceling their Sunday NFL packages:

DirecTV subscribers contacted by The Wall Street Journal showed the satellite broadcaster was offering at least some refunds.

Marc Hoffman, a longtime subscriber to Sunday Ticket, which gives sports fans the ability to watch every Sunday game, said in an interview he was able to cancel his subscription and receive a refund on Monday. The package costs around $280 per season.

“I honestly didn’t think I’d get a refund,” Mr. Hoffman said. “I know their guidelines, I just wanted to make a point.”

Chris Baker, who lives in Indiana, reluctantly canceled his Sunday Ticket subscription, but not precisely as a response to the protests.

“I explained to them I was tired of politics in sports, and it’s not how I want to spend my Sunday, watching all that transpire,” he said he told a DirecTV representative. He said the representative “insinuated there was a high volume of calls calling into cancel.”

According to Fox News Insider, Sean Hannity said that Democrats are pushing for impeachment over Trump’s NFL comments:

In that regard, he reported that Democrats are already calling for Trump’s impeachment on grounds that he is racially divisive.

Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) said as much this week, saying that he “dog whistled” to a racist constituency, which means he “should not be the president.”

Fellow Democrat Al Green of Texas, who promised to bring impeachment proceedings against Trump earlier this year, said he will have a privileged resolution presented to the House next week.

“I will stand here in the well of the Congress and I will call for the impeachment of the president of the United States,” Green said.

New York City Democratic Rep. Hakeem Jeffries appeared to suggest the president is racist, saying Trump “pulled the sheets off… in the heart of Dixie” when he attacked NFL players.
