Man who stood up to Munich shooter faces prosecution for insulting killer
On Friday, the UK Express reported that 57-year-old Thomas Salbey is facing prosecution for standing up to the Munich shooter who ended up shooting himself in the head. According to the Express, Florian Weinzierl, spokesman from the Munich State Prosecutor’s office, confirmed that Salbey is under investigation and could be charged with hurling “insults to the detriment of the dead.”
Alix Culbertson added:
Thomas Salbey, 57, saw the shooting happening from his balcony in the Bavarian capital on July 22.
In an attempt to stop 18 year old Ali Sonboly from further slaughtering people, he swore at the shooter as he was standing in a car park below.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Sonboly shouted at him: “I am a German.”
Footage of the feisty exchange went viral as thousands praised Mr Salbey for standing up to the deluded teenager.
The plucky German also hurled a beer bottle at the attacker in a desperate attempt to stop him.
“All I had was a beer bottle to throw at him, but if I had a gun I would have shot him in the head,” he said.
A court review will be completed “soon,” the Express said.
Sonboly shot nine people dead, mostly young teenagers he lured to a local McDonald’s with promises of free food. Sixteen others were injured in the shooting spree.
Instead of hailing Salbey as a hero, authorities are looking to prosecute him, even though his actions “had no influence” on the situation.
This is what you get with political correctness…
