Judge who blocked Trump sanctuary city order identified as major Obama bundler

Orrick sanctuary city Obama bundlerOn Tuesday, federal Judge William Orrick III blocked President Trump’s order to block federal funds from so-called sanctuary cities, The Hill reported.  According to the order, the Justice Department can still withhold grant money from places that don’t comply with federal immigration law, but it cannot enforce the order “in a way that violates the Constitution,” said a Washington Post reporter.  Making things worse, Fox News reported that Judge Orrick “reportedly bundled hundreds of thousands of dollars for President Barack Obama.”

In 2015, The Federalist said:

Orrick was nominated to his position by hardline abortion supporter President Barack Obama. He was also a major donor to and bundler for President Obama’s presidential campaign. He raised at least $200,000 for Obama and donated $30,800 to committees supporting him, according to Public Citizen.

And it gets worse, according to a 2015 post at LifeNews.com, which also quoted the Federalist:

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Orrick’s wife, Caroline “Linie” Farrow Orrick, is a clown and artist with an interest in outdoor athletic endeavors. She partners with her husband in their political decisions and she is his co-bundler according to Public Citizen. She’s also a public supporter of extreme abortion policies.

Her YouTube user page shows that the first video she ever “liked” was from an extreme pro-abortion group called the Center for Reproductive Justice. The slick, celebrity-laden video called for people to sign a bill of rights that asserts a right to abortion on demand through all nine months of pregnancy, a position shared by very few Americans. It further calls for taxpayer funding of contraception, abortifacients and abortion. And, finally, it says that all health care plans should be required under penalty of law to cover abortion, abortifacients, and other anti-reproductive services — even if they have religious objections such as those held by the Little Sisters of the Poor.

The Hill added:

The Obama-appointed judge ruled that the order violated the Constitution by attempting to punish local governments by seeking to “deprive local jurisdictions of congressional allocated funds without any notice or opportunity to be heard.”

“The Constitution vests the spending powers in Congress, not the President, so the Order cannot constitutionally place new conditions on federal funds,” Orrick ruled.

The California governments that sued over the order argue that more than $2 billion in federal funding could be at stake.

The ruling will remain in place while the lawsuit moves through the court.

The Trump administration may ask the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco to overturn the ruling, Bloomberg reported.

That’s putting it mildly…
