James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis gives savage one-line answer to what keeps him up at night — Video

While appearing on Sunday’s edition of CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Secretary of Defense James Mattis gave a savage one-line answer to a question about what keeps him up at night.

“What keeps you awake at night?” asked host John Dickerson.

“Nothing,” Mattis said in response without skipping a beat.  “I keep other people awake at night.”

(Boom)

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Here’s video of his comment, courtesy of the Washington Free Beacon:

The Daily Caller added:

Mattis’ remark is sure to join a long list of the former Marine general’s most memorable quotes.

“When you men get home and face an anti-war protester, look at him in the eyes and shake his hand. Then, wink at his girlfriend because she knows she’s dating a p***y,” Mattis once said.

“I come in peace. I didn’t bring artillery. But I’m pleading with you, with tears in my eyes. If you f**k with me, I’ll kill you all,” Mattis told Iraqi leaders during the 2003 invasion.

“Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet,” Mattis was known to tell Marines under his command during the Iraq war.

Mattis also discussed the shift in strategy against ISIS, telling Dickerson the goal is “annihilation” rather than “attrition.”

“Our strategy right now is to accelerate the campaign against ISIS. It is a threat to all civilized nations,” he said.  “And the bottom line is, we are going to move in an accelerated and reinforced manner, throw them on their back foot. We have already shifted from attrition tactics, where we shove them from one position to another in Iraq and Syria, to annihilation tactics, where we surround them.”

“Our intention is that the foreign fighters do not survive the fight to return home to North Africa, to Europe, to America, to Asia, to Africa. We are not going to allow them to do so. We are going to stop them there and take apart the caliphate,” he said.

Mattis’ comment prompted a great deal of fist-pumping from conservatives, Twitchy said.

I think many could watch this over and over again…

Indeed.

“Pretty much,” Twitchy said.

No doubt about it, there’s a new sheriff in town…
