As their tactics get even more barbaric, ISIS must be begging for a Medieval response. Reports coming out of Iraq are saying that 45 Iraqis have been burned to death in the town of a-Baghdadi. It is the recently seized city few short miles from the Ain al-Asad Airbase, where 320 US Marines are stationed.

The BBC stated in an article dated Feb 17:
“Exactly who these people were and why they were killed is not clear, but Col Qasim al-Obeidi said he believed some were members of the security forces.
IS fighters captured much of the town, near Ain al-Asad air base, last week.
Col Obeidi said a compound that houses the families of security personnel and local officials was now under attack.
He pleaded for help from the government and the international community.
The fighting and poor communications in the area make it difficult to confirm such reports.”
Rules of engagement?
It leaves the question on the fate of 17 Peshmerga fighters who were captured by ISIS in doubt. They were threatened by burning alive as well, after being paraded through the streets of Kirkuk over the weekend.
The actions of the Islamic state appear to be highly scripted. Their videos are slick and edited to provide the maximum amount of gore and fear. They have learned that burning someone alive elicits extreme responses. They likely intentionally murdered these men to elicit that extreme response from the United States Marines and Iraqi forces at the airbase.
No mercy for ISIS
For the Iraqis, remember that Islam demands the right of revenge. Their anger will burn hot and retribution will be their response. But as for the USMC force stationed at the airbase? ISIS has no clue how fierce they can be if unleashed. In the twisted arrogance of the Islamic State, they are up against a formidable adversary in Marines. We will follow the situation at al-Asad Airbase and update you as we find more information.
Wishing my fellow Marines at Ain al-Asad air base safety. ISIS reportedly just burned 45 people in a town just 5 miles away.

If ISIS closes in on the al-Asad airbase taking it would require a massive force, that would present a target for airstrikes — the_war_report (@The_War_Report) February 17, 2015
