‘I’ll go direct for Barron’ – Kathy Griffin still blames ‘a bunch of white guys’ for career collapse
In spite of notorious D-lister Kathy Griffin bragging just six months ago that she has no problem whatsoever delivering a “beat-down” to then 10-year-old Barron Trump, her ambulance-chaser of a lawyer is now claiming that particular brag was made “years ago.”
As noted by Shira Levine of Vulture magazine last December; (emphasis mine)
“It’s not about trying to be an equal-opportunity offender anymore because Hillary got such a beat down. It’s his turn. So I’m happy to deliver beat down to Donald Trump — and also to Barron. You know a lot of comics are going to go hard for Donald, my edge is that I’ll go direct for Barron. I’m going to get in ahead of the game.”
Nonetheless, in a joint press conference held by Griffin and her attorney Lisa Bloom, Daniel Nussbaum of Breitbart is reporting that the lawyer said “it had been given years ago,’ while Griffin said it had been a part of her act, when in fact, she said it in an interview with Vulture less than one year ago.”
Digging the hole even deeper, Lawyer Bloom obviously didn’t know when to stop talking and just shut-up, subsequently making things worse for her client. Much worse;
“You’re talking about something from a comedy act years ago, I think,” Bloom said. “We can have edgy comics in America. Comics can say things that are not appropriate for children. Comics can create images that are not appropriate for children… it is not the job of a comic to filter everything down to the level of an 11-year-old.”
Griffin later said during the press conference that she “would never want to hurt anyone, especially a child.”
In spite of Griffin now claiming she’d never target children with her particular brand of hatred, Fox News reported back in 2011 some rather vile comments directly aimed at Sarah Palin’s then 16-year-old daughter, Willow;
“I’ve already gone for Sarah, Todd and Bristol obviously,” Griffin told The Hollywood Reporter. “But I think it’s Willow’s year to go down. In 2011, I want to offend a new Palin.”
Fast forward to present day, Breitbart’s Jerome Hudson is reporting that Griffin is blaming all her woes on everyone else;
“I don’t think I will have a career after this. I’m going to be honest, he [President Trump] broke me,” Griffin said as she began to choke up.
“If you don’t stand up, you get run over,” she added. “What’s happening to me has never happened ever in the history of this great country. Which is that a sitting president of the United States and his grown children and the First Lady are personally, I feel, personally trying to ruin my life forever.”
“He picked me, I’m the easiest target,” she continued.
Griffin said the widespread backlash she has faced over the photo is part of a sexist campaign to destroy her career.
“It’s a bunch of white guys trying to silence me,” she said. “This wouldn’t be happening to a guy. This is a woman thing.”
