Houston Mayor Annise Parker to revive ‘bathroom bill’ despite will of voters
It seems that Rush Limbaugh is right once again. Annise Parker, the openly gay mayor of Houston, Texas, who got her clock cleaned by the voters over what has now become known as her “bathroom ordinance,” has decided to revive the measure despite the will of city voters.
On Friday, the Advocate reported that Parker is “vowing to try to bring the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance back before she leaves office at the end of the year.” Translation: She’s determined to get men into women’s restrooms one way or another.
“I’m going to sit down with the council members and see how they want to proceed,”she said Wednesday. “We will also, of course, evaluate what the national and international response from the business community is, because that certainly will make a difference.”
She also said she’s not going to water it down, which means she intends to cram it down the throats of Houston residents whether they want it or not. And they’ve already said they don’t — by a very wide margin.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
Apparently that doesn’t matter to Parker. Remember, she’s the one we dubbed the “Liberal Nazi of the Day” for demanding pastors hand over sermons dealing with homosexuality, gender issues and, yes, even her.
You see, Parker doesn’t think the will of the voters really matters, unless of course, they agree with her. That was proven after the election when she had a hissy-fit and blocked Twitter users who disagreed with her. They were great as long as they voted for her, but suddenly became bigots when they disagreed.
“What is more fundamental than trying to provide access to a public restroom that is appropriate to the gender of an individual, when all they want to do is use the facilities and go on about their business?” she asked. “All of this about pedophiles going into women’s restrooms was an out-and-out falsehood, they knew it was a falsehood, and they sold a bill of goods. That’s all I can say. Masterfully played.”
So in addition to being bigots, those who disagree with her are liars and con artists. At least, that’s her point of view. So now she’s determined to find a way to bypass the voters and do what liberal Nazis like her always do — stick it to the people whether they want it or not.
