It may seem obvious to most, but these days it appears that even the basics have to be spelled out for some.  On Friday, Reuters reported that the head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency said that militants with ISIS have already slipped into Europe disguised as refugees.

Hans-Georg Maassen said last November’s Paris attack proves that ISIS is deliberately planting terrorists among the refugees pouring into the country.

“Then we have repeatedly seen that terrorists … have slipped in camouflaged or disguised as refugees,” he told ZDF television.  “This is a fact that the security agencies are facing.”

“We are trying to recognize and identify whether there are still more IS fighters or terrorists from IS that have slipped in,”he added.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

He also said his agency has received over 100 tips of ISIS fighters already in the country, no doubt thanks to Chancellor Angela Merkel’s open-border policy.

On Thursday, Reuters said, German authorities arrested two men with suspected ties to ISIS reportedly plotting and preparing an attack in Berlin.  Even that wasn’t enough for authorities who called for calm.

“We are in a serious situation and there is a high risk that there could be an attack,” Maassen said.  “But the security agencies, the intelligence services and the police authorities are very alert and our goal is to minimize the risk as best we can.”

Perhaps Germany should follow the example set by Sweden and Finland late last month.  Instead of trying to “minimize the risk,” perhaps authorities ought to consider expelling the refugees.

Recently, Sweden said it was preparing to deport some 80,000 migrants while Finland could deport another 20,000.  Merkel, however, is sticking to her guns on the issue.

In Sweden, an asylum worker — someone helping the migrants — was stabbed to death by an underage Somali male.  Adding insult to injury, the local government has said there will be no memorial service as it could offend the refugees.

And the madness continues.
