According to a report by the Fresno Bee, Lars Maischak, the Fresno State lecturer who said that Pres. Trump must hang and Republicans should be executed over deportations, will not be teaching his regular classes on Monday and Tuesday of next week.

According to the Bee:

On Thursday, Fresno State officials told students of Lars Maiskchak – who has taught history courses at the university since 2006 – that classes scheduled for Monday and Tuesday have been canceled “in an effort to minimize disruption and ensure campus safety.”

The cancellations affect 213 students. The university says students will know more about the future of those courses on Tuesday.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Maischak made national headlines for posting to Twitter that “to save American democracy, Trump must hang. The sooner and the higher, the better.” Past Tweets of Maischak’s have since been criticized, including one that depicts a picture of a bullet and says one “administered straight to the cranium” is the cure for racism.

Maischak has apologized, deleted his Twitter account and said that he does not condone violence against the president.

Although Maischak now claims he doesn’t condone violence against Trump, his Twitter feed was full of tweets advocating violence against Trump, Republicans and those whose political views fall to the right of center, as we noted here.

“Loved all the signs, but I missed seeing Trump’s testicles on a pike being paraded through town. Maybe hopefully soon?” he tweeted on January 22.

“Don’t round up 11 mil. immigrants – round up 11 mil. racists. And deport Trump to Russia,” he said in early February.

He later posted a picture of a bullet, calling it the cure for racism if administered to the cranium.  Nothing violent there, right?

“Now it’s up to the people to bring down Trump and the Republicans. Let’s make sure they’ll meet their judges & executioners,” he said in December.

This was the tweet that started the firestorm:

Maischak issued an “apology” of sorts, and deleted his Twitter account, but the feed can still be seen here.

Maischak, by the way, is still under investigation by the FBI, the Secret Service and Homeland Security.

There is also a change.org petition calling on the college to fire Maischak for inciting violence against Pres. Trump.  You can see that petition here.
