It seems that Brandon English, a former official with the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, isn’t too happy with the fact that socialist Bernie Sanders said that Barack Obama is “enormously popular” with the African-American community.
“It’s not just Black people that love Obama. The President is ‘enormously popular’ among all Democrats. Welcome to the Party,” he wrote in a post at Medium titled: “Go F— yourself, Bernie.”
A real intellectual, that one…
“Do you have any idea how belittling it is to reduce Obama to the President that the Blacks like?” he asked.
Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?
“Aren’t you the one that got shouted down by Black Lives Matter protesters at Netroots Nation, canceled all your meetings in a huff, talked to your advisors and then suddenly realized you needed to start parroting Black Lives Matter catchphrases in all of your speeches?” he added.
Why, yes, he is.
“When politicians suck up to minority groups, its called pandering. When politicians suck up to white people, it’s called campaigning,” he wrote. Actually, English, it’s also called pandering, so you can put your race card away.
He appeared to soften his criticism somewhat toward the end, but I have to wonder: What is it with Democrats that they can’t make a point without cursing?
“So do I actually mean it when I say Go F— Yourself, Bernie? No. Everyone’s allowed to have a bad day. Everyone makes mistakes when every word is captured on tape. If Bernie wins the nomination, I’ll be knocking on doors for him in Cleveland,” he said.
“But for today, and for that comment, and for anyone that tries to diminish Obama’s presidency to ‘He’s popular with black people,’ Go F— Yourself,” he concluded.
The fact of the matter is, Brandon, Obama is popular with a number of people in the African-American community, but that’s primarily because Democrats tend to see skin color over anything else and tend to divide everyone by race.
I don’t support Sanders at all, but I don’t think he meant anything inappropriate with his comment. And it’s well-known that Democrats are good at pandering to certain groups of people.
So maybe English should pull up his big-boy pants and get a thicker skin.
“F— yourself?” Really? Have Democrats sunk so low that two- or three-word expletives is the best argument they can come up with? Seems the Party has devolved considerably since the days of JFK.
