On Monday, the Washington Examiner reported that members of the Congressional Black Caucus — Democrats all — vowed to rehang a painting portraying police officers as pigs in the Capitol days after Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., took the painting down.  Worse yet, Democrats made the vow on a day set aside to honor law enforcement officers.

According to the Examiner:

Rep. William Lacy Clay, D-Mo., and other black lawmakers will hold a Tuesday event to rehang a painting that depicts police as pigs, just days after Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., took it down.

A top aide to Clay told the Washington Examiner Clay also plans to file a “complaint” with the U.S. Capitol Police against Hunter for removing the painting. Last week, Hunter removed a painting by high school student David Pulphus that shows police depicted as pigs in a standoff with protesters.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

The painting won Clay’s congressional art competition in May 2016, and is an ode to the protests in Ferguson, Mo., which falls in Clay’s district. Other works of art produced by students are also hung in the Cannon Office Building tunnel.

Members of the Congressional Black Caucus will hold an event Tuesday morning to rehang the painting in the tunnel.

Moreover, Clay is threatening to file a complaint against Hunter for taking the picture down.

According to Twitchy:

As Twitchy has mentioned, Monday is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, and Rep. William Lacy Clay (D-Mo.) is observing the occasion by threatening to file a complaint with Capitol Police accusing Rep. Duncan Hunter (R-Calif.) of stealing a painting in the Capitol complex depicting police as pigs.

Twitchy also noted the irony of Clay’s actions:

So the Congressman’s course of action after finding out about the alleged theft of the painting portraying police as a violent strain of racist subhuman is to alert … the police.

Officers are apparently not happy that the painting is going back up.

Which means the Congressional Black Caucus will end up having blood on their hands…

That’s putting it mildly…
