Conservative rapid response group launched to defend Sean Hannity, fight liberal fascism

Early Monday, the Gateway Pundit’s Jim Hoft said that a new conservative group has been launched to defend Sean Hannity and combat liberal fascists now engaged in a jihad to silence conservatives.  According to Hoft, the rapid-response group, formed by radio talk show host, author, columnist, and journalist Melanie Morgan and Brian Maloney of Radio Equalizer, was founded to take a stand against what it calls the ‘scalping’ of conservative hosts” like Hannity.

Hoft said he received an email from Morgan, which read:

I wanted to let you know that we have been working 18 hours a day since May 6th on organizing a rapid response team to the attack on our friend Sean Hannity. It’s disgusting and repulsive. Brian Maloney (MediaEqualizer) and I put together a Facebook page called StopTheScalpings STS, Twitter #StandWithSean, where six thousand committed conservatives are organized into committees to write sponsors AND Fox in support of Sean.

Peloton has now reversed course and USAA is starting to weaken.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

We are making progress. We are also doing e-mail lists, editorials, articles linked to Drudge, and all the bells and whistles of a guerrilla PR campaign, except no money LOL. We have dozens of radio and print interviews under our belt and we have hired a PR firm from DC (mostly out of our own pockets) but we are compelled to return the good Karma given to us by Sean. He’s a guy with a heart of gold, as you know. If you can throw us a little exposure, we would be super grateful.

As we reported earlier, Hannity was the target of a campaign launched by the Soros-funded Media Matters.  USAA is just one of several sponsors who have dropped their advertising from Hannity’s program, prompting an angry response from customers who now say they intend to boycott the company.

There have also been rumors that Hannity may be fired from the network sometime after Memorial Day, but Fox responded, saying that the talk show host will return after his weekend vacation.

Earlier in May, Morgan wrote:

Launching today, #StandWithSean, its first public campaign, will center on the fate of Sean Hannity at Fox. There is a growing sense that other conservative commentators are facing guilt-by-association, campaigns against their sponsors and internal network pressure. In this new environment, StopTheScalpings believes Hannity is the most vulnerable and that this week will be pivotal in terms of his future at the network.

Its name refers to the sense by conservatives that “progressive” activists are collecting “scalps” by destroying careers, rather than engaging in healthy, open debate. In its first four days of operation, the group has attracted more than 1700 members, including political activists, fans and broadcast industry professionals who have worked with Hannity in the past.

StopTheScalpings co-founder Melanie Morgan, formerly of KSFO Radio and Fox News guest says, “we rely on our conservative icons to report the news, tell the truth, and give us their opinion on what it all means, because the elite media won’t. That is why Sean Hannity has become revered for his blunt-talking, from-the-gut-patriotism for our country. But now we are in danger of losing the very people who give it to us straight.”

It’s clear that radical leftists like those at Media Matters will not stop until conservatives are stripped of their free speech and free press rights and have engaged in a propaganda war against conservative media.  We live in a dream world if we think our rights are secure simply because they’re engraved on a parchment in Washington, D.C., and movements like this are necessary tools to ensure those rights do not become a footnote in history.
