On Tuesday, ABC News reported that Rep. Mike Honda, D-Calif., asked the Obama Justice Department to investigate the arrest and treatment of Ahmed Mohamed, the young high school boy who is now the cause celebre of the left. Honda says he wants both the police and the teachers investigated.
“No student should face that kind of treatment,” said the 74-year-old Democrat.
According to KTVU, Honda sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch demanding an investigation while claiming the arrest was racially motivated.

The Dallas Morning News said that others, including Sheila Jackson Lee, joined in the call to investigate the arrest:
Honda and 28 other Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to Attorney General Loretta Lynch asking the Justice Department to probe Ahmed’s Sept. 14 treatment by Irving police. Reps. Marc Veasey of Fort Worth and Sheila Jackson Lee of Houston were the only Texans to sign.
“We cannot sweep acts like this under the rug,” said Honda. “This incident points out an alarming trend of profiling Muslim-Americans not just by law enforcement, but society as a whole.”
Honda also demanded Irving Mayor Beth Van Duyne, the Irving Police Department and MacArthur High School apologize to Ahmed.
The lawmakers, however, said nothing about the death threats leveled at Van Duyne, the Irving Police Department and MacArthur High School. Apparently, Honda, Jackson Lee and others are okay with that behavior.

So when is Honda and the rest of the gang going to call for an investigation? I’m not holding my breath.
Meanwhile, Ahmed is reportedly leaving the country for Qatar, where, I read, he will have his schooling paid for by the Qatar Foundation.
Weasel Zippers noted: “The foundation was founded by Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani who also gave at least $400 million to Hamas. Qatar helped oust Gaddafi in Libya, while financing the Islamists. In Egypt, it has close ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. In Syria, it provides support to Islamists battling Assad.”
