BREAKING!!! House Majority Leader, Kevin McCarthy Drops Out of Race for Speaker

Kevin_McCarthy_113th_CongressKevin McCarthy stunned Republican establishment types by dropping out of the race for Speaker of the House.  He made a statement in explaining his decision:

“I have the deepest respect and regard for each member of the conference and our team as a whole,  It is imperative for us to unite and work together on the challenges facing our country.

“Over the last week it has become clear to me that our conference is deeply divided and needs to unite behind one leader. I have always put this conference ahead of myself. Therefore I am withdrawing my candidacy for speaker of the House. I look forward to working alongside my colleagues to help move our conference’s agenda and our country forward.”

McCarthy deeply damaged his chances for Speaker when he suggested the Special Benghazi Commission was being used to defeat Hillary.  Adding in his long-time status as a RINO and his prospects were dim.  Republicans will be taking a vote today for Speaker but it’s mostly ceremonial as the actual election will take place on Oct 29th.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

At present time only Daniel Webster and Jason Chaffetz are the only two candidates for the job but you can be sure the establishment Republicans will try to elect one of their own, possibly Paul Ryan.

Republican leadership in the House, Boehner, McCarthy and Scalise have shut conservatives out of all decision making, angering tens of millions of voters as well as conservative members of the House.
