On Monday, the Washington Times reported that Hollywood director and activist Joss Whedon engaged in “coup-like rhetoric” when he issued a tweet saying that President-elect Donald J. Trump “cannot be allowed a term in office” despite the fact that he won the election.

According to the Times:

“Avengers” director Joss Whedon created a pro-Hillary Clinton super PAC called Save The Day for the 2016 presidential election. The $1 million in seed money he supplied for star-studded commercials did not sway voters in a free and fair election Nov. 8. On Monday, however, Mr. Whedon confused social media followers with a cryptic tweet regarding the peaceful transfer of power between President Obama and Mr. Trump.

“This is simple: Trump cannot CANNOT be allowed a term in office. It’s not about 2018. It’s about RIGHT NOW,” Mr. Whedon tweeted.

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Sorry, Josh, elections have consequences.  You lost.  Deal with it.

The Times added:

“Why don’t you just come right out and say what you’re thinking?” asked one reader.

“You don’t think a greater danger is ignoring the rules of our own system, discounting those who voted for him, and changing results?” asked another.

“I like [you] Joss, but this is an expressly undemocratic position,” added Allen Harris.

“That’s what voting accomplishes. You don’t get a re-do just because your side doesn’t show up,” said NRA spokesperson Dana Loesch.

This rhetoric really isn’t too surprising.  A number of leftists have joined what amounts to an insurrection against a duly- and lawfully-elected president, in the hopes they can successfully pull off a coup d’etat against Trump.

Some have even gone so far as to call for the murder of Mr. Trump and those who support him.

It’s enough to make one think Whedon actually wants a second, bloody civil war in America…
