Ann Coulter auditions for MSNBC, declares hatred for conservative supporters of Ted Cruz

CoulterIn a hate-filled screed one might expect to see at Salon, Ann Coulter derided supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas as “moonies,” refers to them as “swine” and accuses them of being dishonest — all in an effort to prop up her new lord and master, Donald Trump.

She starts:

Congratulations to Ted Cruz for winning his fourth primary! Usually Donald Trump wins the primaries — where you go and vote, like in a real election. Cruz wins the caucuses — run by the state parties, favored by political operators and cheaters.

Until now, the only primaries Cruz has won are in Texas (his home state), Oklahoma (basically the same state) and Idaho (where Trump never campaigned).

Will this presidential election be the most important in American history?

Of course, Coulter fails to mention (on purpose, perhaps?) that a number of these elections were open primaries, where anyone — including liberal Democrats — can vote for the Republican nominee.

She derides Cruz supporters, which are mostly conservatives, as being “Cruz-bots,” “cultists” and “guttersnipe, lying political operators like the Clintons.”

She then claims:

It’s all hands on deck to stop the only presidential candidate who wants to save America from the cheap labor plutocrats.

Cruz has flipped to Trump’s side on every important political issue of this campaign — which only ARE issues because of Trump. These are:

— Quadrupling the number of foreign guest workers to help ranchers and farmers get cheap labor: Cruz was for it, and now is against it.

— Legalizing illegal aliens: Cruz was for it, and now is against it.

— The Trans-Pacific Partnership deal: Cruz was for it, and now is against it.

— Building a wall: Cruz was against it, and now is for it.

She also claimed Cruz only changed his positions in the last year, which doesn’t even begin to pass the smell test.  (Google “poison pill amendments”)

She even claims Trump is “fully pro-life” despite having taken five different positions on abortion during the Wisconsin race and refusing to meet with pro-life leaders.

She whines that “all’s fair in smearing Trump,” but has no problem smearing Cruz or his supporters.  Remember, she once called Cruz and Fox News “traitors” over comments made about anti-Trump protesters. Pot, meet kettle.

But she wasn’t finished (Emphasis added):

The next thing I knew, the Cruz cult was accusing Trump’s campaign manager Corey Lewandowski of criminal battery for brushing past a female reporter. Anyone who claims this video shows a “battery” is as big a liar as the liberals who lined up to say Clinton did not commit perjury when he denied having “sexual relations” with Monica Lewinsky.

Sorry, Ann, but that’s not the charge and you darn well know it.  If that were the case, Lewandowski would not have been charged at all, nor would he have been arrested.  Apparently, Coulter is also okay with calls of rape and murder leveled against Fields.

She concludes:

If James Carville and Paul Begala had a baby, it would be a Cruz supporter.

They lie about my own tweaking of Trump — I didn’t like the Heidi retweet! — amid a tidal wave of support. Trump is the only presidential candidate in my lifetime who will build a wall, deport illegals and pause the importation of Muslims. He’s the only one who cares more about ordinary Americans than he does about globalist plutocrats. Does anyone really think I’m “tiring” of him because of a retweet?

Apparently, for slavishly devoted Cruz-bots, a normal human making a small criticism of her preferred candidate is unfathomable! That fact alone proves how dishonest they are about their own candidate.

I was under the misimpression that I was dealing with adults and not swine like Carville and Begala, willing to twist someone’s words to win a momentary political advantage. Mostly, I was under the misimpression that honesty was still a conservative value.

Coulter might as well be auditioning for MSNBC with hateful tripe like this.  She would fit in nicely with the demagogues at that network.

But more to the point, she has ripped the mask off and revealed that underneath, she truly hates conservatives, especially those who disagree with her — and she’s not beneath throwing them all under the bus.  Naturally, Coulter forgets that at some point, the base needs to unify to keep Hillary and George Soros out of the White House.

It’s one thing to hold an opinion and engage in meaningful discussion, and Cruz is certainly not above criticism, but Coulter has proven she is way beyond that.

I’m now sorry that I bought and read her books.  I used to think of her as a conservative icon.  I now see her as a cheap political hack willing to sell her soul to curry favor with her “flavor” of the day.
